My New Favorite Hobby- Snowboarding

My new favorite hobby is snowboarding. My husband and I have only snowboarded twice this season, and that was enough for me to fall in love! Growing up, I was always into skateboarding. I thought that snowboarding would be a piece of cake (it was not). I am looking forward to exploring this new hobby of mine next season.

The first time we snowboarded, we paid to rent the equipment at the resort. After our first time, we went out and bought used snowboards of our own. We found a store called Play It Again Sports that sold used snowboard equipment for cheap. I got a learning Burton snowboard for $50 and my husband got a nice board for $60. My advice to you, would be to buy a used snowboard instead of renting your equipment every time you go to the resort. It will be worth it in the long run! We also bought our snow pants at Play It Again Sports and our helmets and gloves off of Amazon.

I had no idea how difficult snowboarding was. It is nothing like skateboarding. In fact, I think I enjoy it more! In my opinion, snowboarding requires a good bit of technique. If I moved my foot or hips the wrong way, then I found myself face planted into the snow. After a few times of face planting, you start to get the hang of it. It took me two runs down the mountain to feel comfortable, and ti took my husband quite a bit more, haha. Overall, we really enjoy it and I highly recommend trying it! It is actually a great workout.
