Cheese, Please!

I. Love. Cheese. I love it so much! I have recently gotten into cheese boards. I have always seen cheese boards at fancy restaurants, but I never had it in me to spend the $15. Once I moved to San Diego, they were at almost every restaurant. I don’t know if I just started noticing them more, or if they were actually everywhere. I fell in love. I spent the $15 on the cheese board and learned how different every board is. My one complaint was the portion sizes. The portion sizes did not fulfill my cheese cravings. I want to eat a full block of cheese. Is that too much to ask?? 🙂

Cheeseboard after cheeseboard, I gathered what I liked and what I didn’t. My husband and I picked our favorites, and we decided to start making our own! We saved a lot more money, and I was a lot more satisfied with my portions, lol. My cheeseboards range from how I am feeling/craving. They generally consist of the following:

  • Prosciutto (the best thing on planet earth)
  • Salami
  • Summer sausage

  • Gouda (aged)
  • Brie (soft)
  • Aged Cheddar (aged)
  • Goat Cheese (soft)
  • Gorgonzola (firm)
  • Manchego (blue)

  • Honey for dipping
  • Mustard Seeds for dipping
  • Bread
  • Crackers (I prefer Wheat Thins)
  • Fruit: Grapes or Strawberries
  • Vegetables: Pickles or Pea Snaps
  • Olive Oils for bread dipping
Salami, mustard seed, honey, brie, a firm cheese, prosciutto (left board)
Olive oils from Coronado, CA: olive oil and balsamic
Salami, pea snaps, gouda cubes, grapes, prosciutto, & honey
Wheat thins, grapes, a cubed cheese I don’t remember (lol), brie, and pickles
