Hi Hi! Welcome to my new blog. My name is Aud. I am a lover of mountains, beaches, and German Shepherds. I am new at a lot of things… I am new at being a blogger (I wouldn’t even consider myself a “blogger” just yet). I am new at being a wife. I am new at being a dog mom. I am new at a full-time job. I am new to Colorado.
I am new to a lot of things, but I would like to think that I am no longer an amateur at ~some~ things. Although, I wouldn’t quite consider myself an expert at anything. Even 100k later in student loans, I wouldn’t say I was an expert at Health Promotion: Exercise Physiology or Public Health Management.
However, two degrees later, and I have finally learned to turn those 168 hours of studying a week into hobbies! Here are two things that I am passionate about: Health and Wellness. Sounds simple, right? I thought so, too. I want to use this blog to share with y’all (born and raised in Alabama) my journey of Health and Wellness.
So, let’s talk about Health and Wellness. Having a degree in a health-related field does not make me an expert. I want to share my journey of health and everything that I have learned along the way. My health is very important to me. I believe that my health controls my attitude and overall well-being (note: it doesn’t matter how many vegetables I consume, I will always still have my stubborn attitude). I guess I should say that health controls my mind & mood.
I believe in daily exercise, healthy eating, & mindfulness. The word “mindfulness” has always sounded like a crazy meditation tactic to me… It wasn’t until I endured hardships, discovered essential oils, and natural skincare products that I truly understood the meaning of mindfulness (Yes, I know those are all very different). According to Google, the definition of mindfulness is “the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.” I tend to cope with things in life by pretending that it never happened and that my life is perfect. Over the past year, I have (& continue) to be mindful of the things around me. I am mindful of the people I love, the stuff I take into my body, the skincare products I use, and the atmosphere surrounding me.
So, back to what I was saying… I want to use this blog to share with y’all my journey of Health and Wellness, which includes:
- Fitness & working out
- Healthy meals/snacks (easy ones, of course)
- Natural skincare and beauty products
- Essential oils
- & all my DIY craft fails (lol)
